Laura Baratto – Head Chef
Laura was born and raised on a property on Sydney’s city fringe and knew from an early age that cooking was in her blood. As a young girl, Laura would often be found in the kitchen with her mum or Nonna.
Laura completed her hospitality training at Ryde TAFE where she won a trade industry award and was soon snapped up by Matt Moran and the team at ARIA Sydney as a second year apprentice at the age of 18, where she began her impressive rise through the ranks.
When CHISWICK Woollahra opened in 2012, she moved over as sous chef and has very much been a part of the planning for CHISWICK’s second opening – CHISWICK at the Gallery, at the Art Gallery of New South Wales where she took the reins as Head Chef.
Laura loves nothing more than cooking and creating with the best each season has to offer and CHISWICK at the Gallery provides her this platform.
Laura has been with the MorSul group for over eight years and currently oversees a team of 24, the menu at CHISWICK at the Gallery plus event catering at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
